Chalmette

Chalmette is a census-designated place (CDP) located in and the parish seat of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. The area is most commonly associated with the Battle of New Orleans, which was fought just outside of Chalmette, and the Chalmette National Cemetery, the final resting place for many soldiers who died in that battle.

The CDP also contains the Chalmette Refinery, one of the largest oil refineries in the United States.
